Intrinsic Digital is proud to announce the formation of our Sustainability Committee -- or as the millennials among us like to call it, Captain Planet's Climate Crew! Since the committee’s start last September, this group of dedicated employees has been committed to reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainability within our company and community.
As a remote company, we don't have a physical office to implement traditional sustainability practices such as recycling programs or reducing energy consumption. Nor do we have a physical product with opportunities to improve production, packaging, or shipping practices. However, this also means that we don't have the same environmental footprint as traditional brick-and-mortar companies. We are proud to say that our carbon footprint is already quite low.
Despite this, we still believe that it is our responsibility to be good stewards of the environment and to continue finding ways to reduce our impact.
One example of this is our commitment to using environmentally-friendly technology and services. We strive to use products that have a minimal environmental impact and that are energy efficient, and we also encourage our employees to use sustainable modes of communication, such as video conferencing, to reduce travel.
In addition to internal initiatives, the Sustainability Committee is also looking for ways to give back to the community. This includes supporting local organizations that are working to protect the environment, as well as participating in beach cleanups and other volunteer activities.
Raising Awareness and Educating Employees on Sustainability
We kicked off our efforts with a light-hearted event to get all employees involved. Client Success Coordinator Alexa Collier hosted a virtual team trivia where employees were challenged to test their knowledge about the environment. The questions were designed to educate and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and the impact of climate change. Virtual trivia has been a popular tradition at Intrinsic Digital, so this was a fun and interactive way to get employees thinking about sustainability and how they can make a difference.
The event was a great success and set the tone for the Climate Crew's ongoing efforts to promote sustainability within the company and community.
We believe that it is important to continuously strive for sustainability, regardless of the challenges. As Captain Planet's Climate Crew, we are taking action to protect our planet, one step at a time. We invite our customers, partners, and community members to join us in this important effort.
